Honeywell Prestige Thermostat Installation

Installing a Honeywell Prestige Programmable LCD touchscreen thermostat can make your life easier in two ways: Ease of use programming the thermostat, and ease of installation.  The real beauty of the Honeywell Prestige thermostat is the LCD touchscreen.  Two main benefits Honeywell Prestige thermostat offers that most regular programmable thermostats don't.  1) You can operate your humidity and other indoor air devices 2) You can circulate your fan about 30% of the time as opposed to either on (continuous fan operation) or off.  This thermostat is at the top of its class when even compared to other Honeywell, Aprilaire, Trane, Lennox, Bryant, Amana and other thermostats.  Here are the basic installation instructions (PLEASE CONSULT THE INSTALLATION MANUAL!!) and turn the power off before proceeding.  There is a module (labeled) that you will install down by your furnace.  On your furnace circuit board where the control wire ties into, you will have W,R,G,Y,C, and sometimes W1, Y2, or O terminals depending on the furnace.  There will be the same terminals shown on the base module.  Make sure you don't cross wires or terminals.  Once you install the wires from the furnace on the module, there are only 2 wires you need to run up to the thermostat from the module, usually designated 1 and 2 on the Honeywell Prestige base.  Find these and tie in the wires (notice the same wire colors on the base are tied into the module).  Turn the power back on to the furnace, and it will take you through the setup.  If you have a big patch on the wall where the old thermostat was, you may get a wall plate as I have on mine.  Total installation time was about 20 minutes, from start to the end of setup, and programming my Honeywell Prestige Thermostat.  Pretty Sweet!!
